How bad was last year?

We counted over twice as many teal this year, and it was still the 3rd lowest September survey on record.

I sincerely hope that Monday morning, this board is lit up with posts wondering how blind those duck-counters must be, or how useless those September survey data are because we all flat wore out the bluewings!

But ........

I see high hopes for NELA in that article.

Just going off of instinct and what you have seen so far, do you think NWLA will be decent?

I only made one teal hunt and killed two. I'm thinking you meant to reply to someone else? Thanks for all your updates.

I guess I didn't write that very clearly ......

What I was trying to say is that the aerial survey results this year show how poor the survey was last year, not how good it is this year. We indeed exceeded last year's survey estimate on the first day of a 3-day survey this year, but we still saw very few teal.

And just like last year, some (many?) of us are going to have good hunts anyway. I know I'm going to be out there hoping for the best.
