Also, it needs to be said that, IMO, weedless spoons in the marsh are COMPLETELY different baits/lures than the Little Cleo's or Krocodile spoons. They are meant to imitate different things, and therefore, the presentation is completely different. IMO, when I'm using a weedless spoon in the marsh, I'm imitating a small crab. If you cut a redfish open from where I fish, it's full of nothing but crabs. They wobble slightly when you reel them in slow and drag them across oyster beds, and I think they take em for small crabs.

On the other hand, I've surf fished or fished jetties with the Little Cleo type spoons and I think they're meant to imitate minnows.

And yes, I realize the Johnson spoons I use are called "Silver Minnow", but I think the reds in the marsh take em for crabs when presented with a slow wobble.

If you wanna have some fun with the reds in Delacroix, buzz a Junebug / chartreuse Horny Toad over the grass.....
