The driver turned in front of the bike but the bike was going far too fast.
Here's my problem with motorcycles - it is natural for the human brain to not process them as vehicles on the road - more like bicycles or pedestrians - on the interstate, everything is fine - either I'm passing the bike(s) or it (they) is passing me - I concentrate to make sure I don't lose them in the blind spots and everything is fine.
It is the intersectional stuff that I have problems with - a few months ago, I turned left in front of a bike - it was early morning, we both had lights on - we both had the green, but I didn't have the arrow.
Now, he was going slow and I was going slow - he didn't have to lay the bike down or anything like that, but I would have given a car the right-of-way (I believe) - I actually didn't realize what I had done until it was over.
But, I do actively concentrate when I realize a bike is in the area - for this very reason.
