My cousin is one of the owners. I hear they will be opening up a second location at some point near Perkins Rowe.

It's not my restaurant.
I'm sure you can heat it up however you like.
I didn't see a meal over 2 days old on my one visit.
I enjoyed what I ate.

You could also take the food out of an oven safe container and microwave it. Probably a lot less waste than the plastic microwaveable containers too. Easier to recycle, less material used...
I just feel like their whole philosophy is based on clean, organic, local (when possible) ideas to attract the "green/organic" crowd. That is the one crowd who would shy away from microwaves, plastics.... similar to whole foods not using plastic bags.
Again, this is just my $0.02. They seem to be doing well and trout bandit loves them (he has to as he obviously works there) so maybe I am in the minority here.

That ignores one of the selling points of being able to heat and eat your food in the establishment.

I don't disagree. But then not everything has to go to extremes. They sell clean convenience food, which lends itself to microwaving.

He does not work there and I haven't seen him shouting love from the rooftops. He simply shared a place to get minimally processed food that many, including myself, were unaware of.

pretty tasty...kinda pricey
I wouldn't want an employee describing my product like that.

Why did he get so angry when I pointed out that the company website said the food may be 5 days old? I've never been there maybe its good I was just shocked that the food wasn't fresh at Fresh Kitchen.
If he doesn't own it or work there then I would be willing to bet he is friends or family with the owner then.

it is fresh though
it hasn't been frozen
and they just said that the only allow food to sit out for 5 days
its not like they only make new food every 5 days

I didn't see anybody get angry. He responded with a joke.

Like Salmon said, you have your own definition of fresh. If I make lasagna tonight, seal it and put it in the fridge, I am eating it a week from now.
Let it go.

Lots of supporters in here!
My thought on this is why even put the 5 day claim on the website? I don't let food that I cook sit in my fridge that long before throwing it out and its probably full of delicious preservatives. I think 5 days is too long for something to be ALLOWED (not saying every item sits there for 5 days) to be on the shelf. Especially a place that puts fresh in the name!
ETA : Lasagna over a week old in the fridge, not freezer, is gross. I don't care what you say

ok
so don't eat there
I eat 5 day leftovers all the time. I don't see the big deal.

I'm not buying leftovers. I'm buying a "fresh" meal from them.

Because they are honest?

We differ here. But that's cool. If it wasn't safe or if the product suffered I imagine they would do it your way. They have likely tasted and tested thousands of times for optimal product.

5 days too long? Give us your cut-offs so we can know what is acceptable to you for when I open "DzNtz Approved "Fresh" Kitchen."

Apparently you aren't buying anything from them. God Bless America and our freedoms.
Aren't you glad you didn't go in there and buy something and enjoy it without seeing on the label that it was 4 days old? You'd probably be dead now.

Anyway, y'all enjoy your overpriced (trout bandit's words) and potentially 5 day old (the restaraunt's words) meals. Take care.

Haha what people are you referring to?
I guess I am one of them too. I wouldn't eat 5 day old leftovers either.
Maybe FK will be a hit but the concept of people buying expensive 5 day leftovers that you take home and microwave is lost on me.

I have a feeling that's not the only thing lost to you.

Your leftover store sucks

They have been moving meals pretty quickly so I highly doubt anything has sat in the cooler for more than a day or two.
