I don't agree with this.

Wisconsin's coaches didn't just up and decide "ya know what, since we can run the ball at will on them, we'll now throw it at will on them."

what happened is that other than the long run on the 2nd half's first play from scrimmage, Wisconsin's running game was stopped. Thus, they had to try and throw.

In the first half, Wisconsin was chewing off big bites of yardage on 1st down. That stopped in the second half. Because it did, they were forced to throw.
