Slight thread jack...

Stopped to fill up at a gas station along I-12 on Tuesday and the fine gentleman, with multiple neck tats, in front of me was also filling up his Harley. He asked me if we were in Mississippi. I laughed and he didn't crack a smile. I realized he was serious and I informed him MS is about another 30 minutes east. He didn't say a word and just walked back to his bike. I found this to be rude and almost said your welcome, but I let it go. His jacket said sons of silence or sons of satan, not 100% which it was.

Was that a good move keeping my mouth shut? My knowledge of biker culture is not up to date.

TLDNR: possible 1%er didn't thank me, could have possibly caused a problem for myself.

More than likely you would have beat his arse. Only time I hear about biker gangs are from Southpark or vids of them getting beat up. It's just a bunch of men that get together and save on gas by riding a bike.

First, some bikers are very polite, others are assholes. In other words, we're normal people. As for who you encountered, it was almost certainly a member of the the Sons of Silence. They are one of the biggest 1%er clubs in the nation. Did his patch look like this?

If it was a SoS guy, you did the right things by just letting him go his way. But don't let this one guy give you a negative view of them or the biker community as a whole. I know the SoS national president and he's a one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
