This sounds like you watched the wisky zone scheme, listened to the announcers talk about punching and releasing the the second level, and assumed LSU runs the same scheme. But they primarily run man blocking schemes which are the reason shifting fronts gave them problems. Shifting fronts does not affect zone nearly as much, and the center's job in a 3-4 (center will be nose covered) is simply to block the nose or down block the pull. Not to get downfield

whisky's dline was stunting (and grabbing) our olineman preventing them from reaching the next level. When a dline is space-eating, its almost impossible to get to the next level. Especially when they know its run.
