Patching concrete floor

Has anyone here ever used self-leveling compound before? I pulled about 500 sq ft of ceramic tile up. Everything was going great until I realized the thin-set was staying on the floor and not pulling up with the tile. So now, Im left with 500 sq ft of thin-set and have called several different people on how to remove it. All have said that the best way is hammer and chisel. Other than that, one told me about possibly floating the floor with self-leveling compound. I have looked into this and it seems pretty straight forward.

I've been drinking, wtf are talking about? I had to do this in my house and found that an air compressor and chisel was the best way to remove the thinset.

Yep, make sure the angle is correct or you will have to patch more than you thought when you read up some chunks.

Is this what you are talking about?
I used a 20lb demo hammer from Home depot to remove the tile itself but it didnt chip away at the thinset like I thought it did. Wondering if I should give it another go....maybe I was expecting too much from the demo hammer the first go around?

you never said where you are,,, if in BR, go yo AAA Rental on Airline, ask to see their ELECTRIC Hammer on the cart. I think they use Bosch or Dewalt Hammers.

did you read where I said it would be a Bosch or dewalt 60 lb electric hammer on a cart? no, that's not it.

A chisel may hack it up. I'd rent a diamond grinder and HEPA vac from AAA.
