I'm tall and I just lean forward and ask if they can move their seat back up. Pretty simple. Just say, "Excuse me, your seat is pressing against my knees. Could you be so kind to move it back up?"

Folks have always been pretty nice about it and move it back up.

The arm rest battles are far more interesting.

Passive aggressive people are so funny. Just ask.

Why can't everyone just do this. Most confrontations could be avoided if someone just verbalize reasonably their stance in a situation.

I never even knew this reclining thing is such a big deal until I found the OT. I've reclined my seat every time I took a nap, which isn't often because I can't sleep in the sky very well, but it happens. If someone would just kindly ask me to not do that because they are too tall and have no room, I'd have no problem not reclining the 3 inches. But get all bitchy about it like playing drums on my back and the pilot will be landing that fricking plane soon after.

The Arm-rest rule.....

The person in the middle seat gets both arm rests. No questions. If one person is too fat to allow his armrest down, he must suck it up and lean out.

The window person can lean to the window, the aisle person can lean out into the aisle. The guy in the bitch seat, gets the use of both arm rests. always.
