The GOP has not strayed from its platform...it has never changed...it has always been about lowering taxes for the wealthy, allowing the fox to secure the hen house (dergulation) and making certain that adults did not have the freedom to make decisions about their own lives. By the way the democrats are no different.....

Any of the Libertarian Republicans and any of the Tea Party republicans is going to have an almost impossible task of winning a national election because the base of the GOP is so ideologically "pure" it is all too easy to lead their leaders into making statements and taking actions that will alienate at least enough voters to keep them out of the White House...this is the problem with allowing demogougues to lead your party....there is no room for the inevitable compromises required to reach consensus....
