Based on?
Past information has lead to the hunting of them. In fact, the US Navy warned it's divers in 1973 in their diving manual "killer whales will attack human beings at every opportunity".
Seaworld has done an enormous amount of research and offers solutions that directly effect Whales and people. For example.. the population of the Southern Resident killer whale has not recovered and is likely due to declines in populations of their main prey, Chinook salmon. Now they want to build a place off the gulf that would supply the US population and set into the wild more prey for them.
Seaworld is already doing that in Cali with the sea bass.
As to watching them in the wild.. it forces them from their habitat. It reduces a killer whale’s echolocation abilities when hunting for prey.
Now you say:

Really? UCN/The World Conservation Union is a worldwide conservation organization. They issue a RED LIST. This list tells us what is endangered for risk of extinction. According to them, We have hardly any data from the wild. The killer whale is categorized as “data deficient.” There is inadequate information to make a direct, or indirect, assessment of the species risk of extinction based on its distribution and/or population status.

What the frick are you babbling about?
Where are copy and pasting this shite? of the premiere Orca research is being done right here in S.E. Alaska, and also in New Zealand.
Seaworld greatly exaggerates it's research
LINK
It's been suggested that captive habitat should be expanded to include an area large enough for Orcas to exhibit natural behaviors, such as a bay or inlet devoted to the study of these creatures. Seaworld can even do the research if they'll be honest about it.
Never mind, found where you copy and pasted your bullshite from
Seaworlds propaganda site
