Try to drive if under 8 hours. The "flying" part is o.k., but too much bullshite with parking, lines, shoes off, ect. I like to stop when if, when and where I like, listen to my tunes, don't have to sit by a "fatty" or "stinky".

I will go 7 or 8. When I was younger it was 10. I don't like driving past 7 hours now.
I now live where a regional airport is 10 minutes from my house. When I lived in Texas DFW was 100 miles away. That makes a difference too.

Hey, I'm a 125k+ miles/year flyer. Can I join this club?

I really dislike flying, especially if there is a connection.
Off the top of my head, if it is under about 8 hours I tend to drive.
