If we ever went to the popular vote, the Dems could easily set up shop in the top 15 populace cities in America and just hammer the GOTV. I beg to differ with you here, the numbers of Demacrat voters would increase without a doubt but The republican would be able to pick up tens of millions of votes from the more populated states where they get none currently. More people voted republican in CA in the last election than live in the state of LA. The electoral college protects the Dems right now.
