Couple months ago I fell asleep on the couch with my contacts on. Woke up and took them out....intense pain immediately to my left eye. Got worse over the next day so went to eye doctor.
Scratched my cornea. Had to take drops for a week. Yeah...don't fall asleep with contacts.

That's why I quit wearing mine... I would sleep with them on after working at the bar and rip them out in my slumber without washing my hands! ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbarf.gif)

How long were you asleep? I crashed for a couple hours by accident and woke up to my eyes feeling a little weird. Didn't take out my contacts though... just kept them in until bedtime.

Contacts can bite me. Though it's been many years since I've worn them, before I rub my eyes, I still pause and wonder if my contacts are in.

I always recommend flushing with solution or using rewetting drops before taking them out in this case. Taking out a dry lens can be wildly painful. I'm fortunate to have never abraised my cornea. I feel for you.
