I know a lot of Wisconsin fans. They are very delusional. They think they are a power in college football. They actually think that since they went to the Rose Bowl in years the Big Ten was down they are a national power. They really think they deserve to be mentioned in the same breath of Alabama or Florida State and LSU.

Now that is really annoying when you consider they are historically a middle of the pack of the big ten team and they think they are up there with Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Penn State. When in reality they are less relevant than Minnesota and Michigan State historically. They have fewer national championships than Minnesota and Michigan State and even in their Rose Bowl years could never get as high as MSU's last year at 3.

Do have a link to some of those statements?

Here a some Badger Fans posts in comparison:

2011 LSU was a monster team. The point differential that season is amazing.
quote:

LSU had nine players taken in this past NFL draft. Five of these were drafted in the first three rounds, and four of these five had eligibility left. LSU is talented and deep, but they lost players that would have been stars this season.

LSU is as about elite as it gets in college football currently. Out of the SEC only Bama has equal or more standing in perception. LSU has recently bested Oregon and Ohio State and Oklahoma- the best in the Pac 12, B1G, B12. Florida St is in the mix now with their title, and other SEC teams are lurking.....and I know LSU is only #13....but I would say program wise overall that we are opening with one of the best 2 programs in college football for the next 3 years. Numbers may not completely reflect that, but perception probably does.

Yeah, lots of wins over elite teams. All things being equal, they're a notch above the Badgers without a doubt.

I see living in Goofer land has gotten to you, Franklin Ave says whats up. lol. The last 'national title' the Gophers won came in 1960 and they lost their bowl game that year. I will take 6 Rose Bowls in 20 years over one 9 win season in the last 50+ and a bunch of disputed titles from my Grandfathers prime years any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

No rational Wisconsin fan would compare us to Bama FSU or LSU. All of those teams have won Titles. But we are undeniably a power program. What else would you call a program that went to 5 BCS games during the era? That is the same as LSU and more than schools such as Texas, Miami, Georgia, Auburn, and Notre Dame. We also have a Heisman winner and another finalist during that time frame. Are we an elite program? No, but we are in the next tier, which I would call power programs. Teams that are always ranked in the top 25 as they challenge for conference titles and major bowl games and put multiple players into the NFL every year.
