I was a horrible student pretty much my entire life. I think I graduated out of the kindness of coaches and teachers hearts. It wasn't until one failed stint in college, and a crap job for minimum wage for two years that I realized I needed to grow up.
The sucky part is at that point I was footing the bill for my own education and no longer had daddy to bail me out, but it made me a better student and I ended up graduating and going on to get my masters.
