This was discussed when the break up plan was being put together... I think the Clarion Herald had an article/op-ed about forming a separate league. Not sure how serious the separate league was considered but it was discussed.

Don't think it is completely off the table. The last schools to get stuffed in with Curtis and Evangel are arguably the most powerful. The publics have voted out the privates, and the small privates have voted to let the powerhouses move up. The 5A private schools no longer have any way to vote themselves into their own league. They would have to actually leave the LHSAA. If Curtis and Evangel start winning titles in D1, the Catholic schools may get restless.
