The lights have to warm up dude. Can't just turn them off and on like lights at home.

ETA: Also that's not the best pic to display what you're suggesting we do...

The lights in the PMAC need to warm up too, but they figured that out.

You never actually turn off the power to the lights, you simply close an iris or shutter device in front of the light to turn it "off or on". It's done in indoor arenas all the time. Of course, this method was all before the popularity of the LED bulb.

That said, don't know that I'm in favor or against a Tiger Stadium awash in purple for the run-out.
