Some of you are missing the point. The activists, the protestors, the media etc are not sticking to courtroom standards in this debate going on, so stuff like his past is relevant in the current discussion. I know double standards are the mother's milk of liberalism but a hearty frick you to anyone that wants one side of the debate to stick to one set rules while the other side runs fricking wild.

solid point.
if somebody said on a bullhorn "hey, turns out this dude yall are protesting for robbed a store, did pot, and was a convicted murderer," i don't think they'd stop.
