Pretty oversimplification of it. I personally don't care much about it, but the big issue that some atheist have is the indoctrine and public sponsorship of a religion.

Many atheist see religion as a dividing force. Personally, I think being militant further divides.

I also don't think that many Christians would have the same opinion if it was another religion's messages being posted on publicly funded buildings.

Meh. I'm not militant about it, but when it gets to harassment levels it starts to get annoying. Some fundamentalists think it is their duty to try to save my soul. I shouldn't have to deal with people in my cubicle (when I worked in one) trying to preach the gospel and worrying about my soul.
