A few months back I saw a guy selling re built ice machines on the Louisiana Sportsman website but can not find it now. He was in the Baton Rouge area, does anyone know who I am talking about?
TIA

Are you talking about the guy out in Prarieville that rebuilds old ones and sells for $350 - $400?

His email is churchbuilder or something like that. He's all up in every classified in town.

There's a guy in Pville or Gonzales pretty regularly on craigs list.

Yes, in fact I have. I think his name is Jerry? Anyway, I bought a Kenmore 50#/day machine from him about a year ago and it is still working just fine. No problems at all. Granted, you are not going to get any kind of warranty, but I do believe if something goes out, he would be there to fix it (assuming it could be fixed). If I needed another machine, I would buy one from him again. His operation is not a "world class" operation as most of the work he does is under his carport, but he's a nice guy and knows what he is doing.
On a side note, I bought a brand new $2000 machine from Appliance Distributors that lasted all of a month before the pump went out. My point in saying that is you could buy one of his and it could last 5 years or 5 months. You never really know with these machines.

Thanks for the information. How big is your machine? what plug in does it take.

It is a standard 18" wide under the counter model with a regular 110 plug. It has a gravity drain so make sure you are OK with that before you buy.
