I have to wonder whether the fact that rescue helos have already taken enemy ground fire is the main reason why Obama is cancelling plans for rescue.
And if the rescue helos have already taken enemy ground fire, then, I wonder if the reason why there are fewer people needing rescue is that many have been shot dead by ISIL.
I doubt that the Obama Admin will give us all of the facts, because, completely informing the public has never been their strong suit. Using, shaping and twisting information for their own political benefit is their strong suit.

I doubt it. There were 30,000 something civilians up there. We wouldn't have moved them by helicopter anyway except for maybe the elderly and wounded. What would have most likely happened is we would have facilitated their withdrawal from the mountain by opening up a corridor. Mostly with special forces and Peshmerga troops and provided air support. There would have been US Troops and doctors waiting for at a safe zone to receive them.
