Hot as balls in summer, frigid in winter, and you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Texan.

Don't worry, there are plenty of non-Texans in Dallas. It's the least Texas city in Texas.

Not even close. Ever heard of Austin?

OP, don't live in Frisco unless you want to hit up some high school kids. All the other advice in this thread is good.

These days, Austin says hi.

You're late 20's or thereabouts, right? There's always uptown, as previously mentioned, but the M Streets, Knox-Henderson, and Greenville area are all better for that age group. Uptown has gotten a little too young for me recently. If you want to go uptown from the east side it's a $10-$15 lyft/uber.

As for living here, it's fun enough. Always something going on, and if you're looking for a change of pace Ft. Worth isn't far off.

In all of the areas I mentioned, you'll be relatively close to Love Field. DFW is 20+ miles outside of Dallas, so I'd recommend not even thinking about that.
