I used to let bye weeks and playoff schedule play a role in my draft strategy but then realized I would sometimes pass on players I like better because of a bye week or playoff issue. I now just draft who I want regardless of those factors and if I run into an issue that may hurt me I start to offer some trades to better my position.

I hear you. I don't let it heavily weigh at all. Just helps to decide within a tier. I adjust my tiers as more camp info comes out.
I play in a 10-person big money league where only 4 teams make the playoffs and the majority is split between 1st and 2nd regardless of the champion.
Winning week 14 is huge. So when all else is equal (factoring in the QB/Offensive Line, Coaching, injury concerns, ball distribution, etc...) it's good to have the schedule right there to add a little more to the scale.
