Again, yes. But it's not that simple. Parliaments don't dislodge foreign occupying armies. Obama did what he said he would do. He did what the people wanted. But he did it under the cover of the Iraqi government's intransigence. And it hasn't worked out. In the least. Going into Iraq in March of 2003 was a mistake. But we broke it. We bear some responsibility.
And again, I was one of those who unapologetically said "frick 'em" in 2011. There's no way to plausibly justify it as anything but a waste of "blood and treasure" if we leave it worse than it was under Saddam. Unfortunately, that's probably what it's going to come to. We can't slap a veneer of America over those people and their way of life. It seemed to work in Germany and Japan, and I guess we've been trying to duplicate it from SE Asia to the Middle East to South America since.
Hasn't really taken so well.

If it was the Iraqi's decision, then why did Obama claim it as his at almost every campaign event?
