Andrew made some good points with which I can identify.
Over the past 20 years, I have tried to think more independently when it comes to politics. Since the advent of social media, I have witnessed lifelong friends become bitter toward one another over partisan politics. Some even refuse to speak to another from the "opposite side" and we've all been friends since we were kids. They all ask me what I think and I tell them all that it's insane to let partisan political thinking ruin friendship. So far, all have agreed and none have directed their venom toward me. Happiness and friendship is much more important. We're all human.

Both sides need to make compromises.
What about tax breaks for companies who pay their employees more.
Let's say you pay your workers $10/hr and pay 10% in taxes. Double their pay and you pay no taxes or something. Your workers are happy and dedicated and the economy just got stronger participants. As far as the lost revenue for the govt well they could do with the shrinking and budget cutbacks.
But my point is compromise. Small victories here and there for the better of everyone. Both sides have extremes and they are getting all the media attention. And they don't want to compromise they keep going for the KO shot.

The world is being hurt and damaged by one group of people believing they're truly better people than the others who think differently.
Lots of truth in this.

It would be a good change for the better.
It wouldn't disappoint me if there were no political parties. I view them as glorified gangs, accepting glorified bribes from political lobby representing special interests groups or factions. Bribery corrupts.
IMHO, members of Congress, as one example of the partisan political machine, should be representing their constituents, i.e. the people they should be representing, all of them, and not various factions with the money to buy their vote or the ones loyal to their partisan agenda.
We don't have a democracy. We have a shell or image of one that's controlled by money through political lobby and various factions, corporate and otherwise.

It's all going to burn down to the ground and you young ones can rebuild it however you want. I've lived in the best generation in history. The next generation is screwed. Enjoy what you have sowed.

My dad is a left wing nut job. He rails about corporations ruining the country by buying our government. My response..."That wouldn't happen if our government wasn't for sale".
I am a hyper Libertarian and he is a probably left of Warren and Obama.
He uses Bible verses to support his view of government assistance for the poor and how he is on the right side of things. My answer..."Why do you think we can saddle non christians with Bible mandates?" and "Jesus said, give to the poor. Not Give to Ceasar to give to the poor". It finally stopped when I challenged him to compare tax returns to see which of us gave to the poor and who gave to the government. Turns out I did both and he did none of the first and a little to the second.
Parents with extreme political views make shite hard.
I know CSB....
