Three solutions:

1) Take "Navy Showers." That is, turn the water on just long enough to wet down your body and turn it back off. Then soap up, shampoo, whatever. Then turn the water back on just long enough to rinse off.

2) Install a 10gal water heater. This only alleviates the issue somewhat, though, so #1 may still be applicable.

3) Install an "instant" aka "tankless" water heater (like this: LINK ). I had a lot of customers that went this route.

Yes. Every camper showerhead I have seen has a button for this. We do this, plus, if I really need a good shower, I bike down to the comfort station and take one there.
