It's about the same number of people who absolutely need to use Windows.
The other 90-whatever percent would be absolutely fine browsing the web and checking their email using Linux. It is exactly what "the masses" need to save them from themselves.

ios was in this range not too long ago.
Steam OS is a Linux as well. If that catches on in the PC Master race world, it would do a lot to bolster more people giving it a try, or maybe it would be yet another great OS that people fail to see that it is actually Linux.
Is Chrome OS not some distro of Linux as well ?
Seems like LINUX is for the people that have specific use for it in mind.
If you choose a windows replacement distro it will work really really well for you for most computing needs since many apps seem to be hosted in the cloud these days.
Lets not fail to mention to anyone reading this thread that doesn't realize a important feature of Linux: The majority of Linux distros are FREE
