Does it bother you that state funding has put LSU into a giant hole financially that it is having to dig its way out of? Do things like faculty salaries even make a blip on your radar screen?

The funding problem is due to too many hands in the cookie jar. We support too many universities in the state that don't produce much of any value.

Faculty should be paid what they're worth. Top researchers' salaries, who makes advances in science, should dwarf those english lit professors.

This has been the problem for years. When Jindal was first elected, I thought that he might make the funding of the state flagship university a priority and close down some of these smaller universities, or convert them into community colleges. That hasn't been the case.
