1. The south endzone expansion will soon pay for itself with the added suite revenue.
2. The renovations for that caved-in building are already planned.
3. Funding for athletics does not come from the state. Athletics is entirly self-sustaining and also supports the university financially on top of that.
4. I care very much about the state of academics as well as athletics and plan to contribute to the department i graduated from for years to come.

Look, I struggle with these questions myself. But my daughter starts LSU in 2 weeks, and I'm thinking more about this. Perhaps I've gotten more crotchety in my old age.
I know where the money comes from. I know all that. And sorry to sound like a liberal faculty senate member here (because I'm not), but does the disparity of the money spent illustrate that our priorities are monumentally out of whack?
