What type of Freshman season does LF have to have for you to consider him to have lived up to the hype? I would say he needs to have a Kevin Faulk like Freshmen season to match the hype. What says the rant?
By comparison does he need a Dalton Hilliard, Kevin Faulk or Justin Vincent type of Freshmen season to meet expectations?
1982 Dalton Hilliard
Rushing - 901 Yds, 11 TD
Receiving - 368 Yds, 5 TD
Scrimmage - 1269, 16 TD
1995 Kevin Faulk
Rushing - 852 Yds, 6 TD
Receiving - 86 Yds, 1 TD
Scrimmage - 938, 7 TD
2003 Justin Vincent
Rushing - 1001 Yds, 10 TD
Receiving - 80 Yds, 0 TD
Scrimmage - 1081, 10 TD

He's awesome if he gets anywhere close to Dalton. Dude was a beast.

Significantly less than that given we do it "by committee". Not sure if they did that during those years.

Is that a list of top LSU freshman rb years ever?

Yeah, Its hard to imagine 16 TD's from a freshmen in an 11 game season. That's pretty damn amazing.

Best I could remember but that doesn't mean that I didn't forget someone.

1000 yards in the first season would be pretty damn amazing, but I wouldn't be surprised. To say he has to be like Faulk, the SEC leading rusher is a bit extreme. Lets give this kid a break and just let him do his thing!

Faulk wasn't the SEC's leading rusher his Freshman season with 852 yards. The context of the OP was Freshman season. I think it is reasonable to expect 852 yards from LF this year.
I'm not sure what you meant about KF but he isn't the SEC's leading rusher either.

Vincent was a redshirt, so no comparison. Faulk was on a bad to midrange Tiger team. Hilliard came out of nowhere on a mid level expectation team. They over-achieved because of guys like him.
Fournette is on a top 15 team, and is as highly recruited as they come. He should be the featured back, no questions asked

Not that impressive. Jamal Lewis had over 1300 at Tennessee as a true freshman with nowhere near the hype LF has gotten.

Just a follow up. He should get 1000

Fournette will Avg. 18 touches per game for the season- 15 rushing 3 receiving
Rushing- 15 x 6.8 per carry = 102 YPG x 12 games = 1,224 Yards (10 TD's)
Receiving- 3 x 10 per reception (higher average if he slips out for a wheel route)= 30 YPG x 12 games = 360 Yards (2 TD's)
1,584 Total yards from scrimmage in 2014 (12 TD's)

I hate the word HYPE. Hes just a football player. Hasn't even carried the ball yet. Yes Hilliard was a beast. We just don't know how good this kid could be. I hope he is mature enough to handle all this FAME he has received from LSU fans that will crucify him after his 1st fumble.
