I've been lucky to not have very many people close to me pass but I was friends with a kid who passed at 20 and a lot of his friends will post on his wall just that they were thinking about him or something that happened that reminded them of him. The family either mother, father, or brother almost always comment that they appreciate the person sharing that with them.

I've never posted on a dead persons wall, but I do feel like that has to really help the healing process of those who were the closest when they see others post things like that.

Of course you are always going to have a few people who are attention whoring on Facebook, that's with almost anything nowadays. But don't let that ruin your perspective on the people who are actually using it as a grieving tool.

Just my two cents.
