I'm essentially a year behind on movies because I have a two year old, but can't a guy watch both?
I mean, I enjoyed both Iron Man 3 as well as Upstream Color and The Past. I watched both Pacific Rim and Fruitvale Station. It's not like the existence of one prevents the other.
And small art films have always only come to the big cities. It's not like the suburbs and small towns were getting the Kiss of the Spider Woman back in the 80s. If you want to see art films in the theater, move to a big city. If not, get it on DVD or stream it on Netflix. Movies are more available than they have ever been in the entire history of film.
