that seems like a dumb rule

What's dumb about it? There was a guy who went 3-3 hitting, had a back injury, and never played again. You want to elect him to the Hall?

in theory, a guy could play 9 years, go 35-0 every year, win 9 cy youngs, and not be elected because he didnt play a 10th year

What about a guy that plays 9 years and get 9 MVPs before hurting his back?

okay.. you still use your judgement.. if you have certain stats.. not just a percentage stat.. you would think they would be HOF worthy. I am also surprised by the 10 year thing.. are there ways around it? i mean what if you did play 9 seasons.. that seems tough
