I have very deep roots to my teeth from what I was told.

Every patient I have met tells me they have deep/long roots.

So that's why my dentist messed them up.

Sounds like the endodontist threw him under the bus. It's good he moved out of town because that endo guy was not doing him any favors.

The fact of the matter is that general dentists do 90% of the root canals each year in the USA. If they stopped doing them the root canal specialists could not handle the demand and teeth would be left untreated. Lots of pain, swelling and agony for patients to deal with.

General Dentists have a duty to do root canals and they should do them well. If not, get additional training or refer.

One dirty secret that your root canal specialist didn't tell you is that some of his root canals fail too. Those that live in glass houses.........

Gotcha. Well it was actually my new general dentist that found that the old ones had to be redone. I had intense pain and it felt like a tooth was abscessed....it was one that had already had a root canal done on it. He was the one to refer me to the endodontist. He doesn't do root canals at all. Says he would rather send his patients to the endodontist instead. He's always booked so I imagine he stays busy enough not doing them.
