Im confused about why this would shut the clinic down. Were local hospitals refusing to credential the abortion factory doctors? I find that hard to believe.

It has been a while since this was passed but as I recall, the physicians were from out of state and traveled here only for the purpose of performing abortions. Why would hospitals (Baptist and St Dominic come to mind) give admitting privileges to such physicians?

Clinic has to be within a certain geographic radius of the hosital where the physician has privileges.

The doc could probably get privileges, but was he close enough to the hospital?

Just a guess.
