I thought james white from the badgers was a better back than gordon honestly from watching their highlights in 2013. glad he's gone.
Well, James White was a four-year product for Wisconsin with career totals of 4,000+ rushing yards, 6.0+ yards per carry, and 45 TDs. He's one of the best statistical RBs to ever play for the Badgers. There's a reason he's drawing positive reviews in New England right now. The kid was one of the more underrated RBs in college football over the course of his career and this should not be a knock on Melvin Gordon. The coaching staff relied heavily on White in the latter part of 2013 because of his experience in pass protection.
2013 was Melvin's first season at the college level receiving extensive playing time in the backfield. While supremely talented, he is still learning the running back position... and that's scary. His Freshman (RS) season was spent running jet sweeps.
There is a reason NFL scouts said Melvin Gordon would have been the first RB taken in this past season's NFL Draft.
