Rescheduling Job Interview for a Funeral

Had a very close college friend pass away unexpectedly.
Got a big-time job interview coming up that I'm going to have to reschedule. Will this hurt my chances? What exactly should I tell the potential employer?

Call them and tell them the truth. My grandpa passed away before an interview. They gladly rescheduled and even sent flowers.
If it does hurt your chances, you don't want to work in that environment anyways.

Exactly. Honestly, and sorry for your loss, but this is the perfect opportunity to see if this is a company that will care about you as a person. If they don't really understand or bitch about it, don't even bother interviewing with them.
