Must be one Liberal arse judge.
The case had nothing to do with his remarks that were recorded. It only focused on the rules of the trust.
Sterling made his own bed when he put ownership of the team in the family trust.
I don't see how political ideology factors in to this.

He also flipped-flopped a bunch of times on the sale and repeatedly made an arse of himself in court. It's obvious his mind is going. And if he would have broken up the trust to void the sale, he would have totally dicked up his finances. Think he would have had to sell off $500 million in real estate to fix the trust. It's best for everyone that he sells the team. He gets a huge windfall, despite decades of shitty ownership and the NBA gets rid of a massive embarrassing headache.

This.
Don't let your feelings about how the NBA handled it cloud your judgment of the legitimacy of the court proceedings. He'd have more of a case if he hadn't placed the team in a trust, from which Shelly had him removed by legal means.
Given what happened with his constant waffling on the sale and his bizarre behavior in court, it's obvious he's slipping into the grips of dementia (which is why he was having his conversations recorded).
Say what you want about the entire ordeal, but Sterling screwed himself before he ever had that conversation with V. Stiviano.
