The main issue they are facing is how to make a crappy book into a good movie.

If Collins does not have issues with it, they can make a really good movie(s) by using the book as a starting point only. Mockingjay was a tough read.

Exactly. Mockingjay was terrible and IMO only needs one movie...but since every last movie in a series now has 2 parts (thanks to HP and Twilight) to milk every penny, no surprise that Hunger Games followed suit. Fwiw it's been 3 years since I've read any of the books.

I'll go see it in theaters but hopefully they've been able to improve on the original source material.
