Wasn't he a really good kicker though? Home field advantage. Though, maybe the weather had more to do with his misses.

Most undeserved win I ever saw in 50+ years of Tiger Stadium. After all those misses against LSU, the OSU kicker, Alexis Serna, was 100% the rest of the season, winning the Lou Groza award. We were lucky, or maybe Tiger Stadium just overwhelmed Serna.
