If you define "Old Metairie" as the river side of Metairie Rd only, then it's the nicest area of the city, save maybe Audubon. But a lot of people say "Oh I live in Old Metairie" and they really mean the block behind the Rally's on Bonnabel.

My wife just told me one of my buddies claims he grew up in Old Metairie, and his his was off West Esplanade by Clearview
We're by Pontiff Playground, so I'm pretty sure we're in it.
