However we have a badass insurance agent that used some of the loopholes to allow you to bypass the exchange.

That's not a loophole. You don't have to go through the exchanges to get insurance. Just to get subsidies. You can call BCBS or Humana or whomever all day long and get insurance directly from them.

The money extorted from people who opt out:

what does it go towards?

It pays for uninsured deadbeats when the go to the hospital.

That's the whole point of the mandate.

If your deductible is $5000 , you practically don't have insurance anyway.

Exactly. These obamacare deductibles are absurd. It makes zero sense to pay premiums on a policy with a 5 or 6 thousand dollar deductible.

Wow, some of you are so naive about insurance.

I bought the Healthcare.gov bronze plan for Louisiana, and after heart bypass surgery that $3000 deductible and $6000 out of pocket maximum proved to be a real bargain.

Imagine that. Rex is a net "winner" financially as a result of Obamacare. I never would have guessed it.

Yeah he was kind of bragging about his big "win" when he had his medical issues.

Gotta admit... I love that Obamacare worked as intended and chuckle that it pisses off wingnuts here.
