If I remember correctly, it would, only benefit brewers making over a certain number of barrels/year, and none of the Bama breweries were anywhere close to that number, so Stone said "frick off" to the bama lawmakers.

I'm not going to stop buying Stone because they asked me for some money, but I do think it is ridiculous that a company as big as Stone would crowd fund a portion of their new facility.

I don't know. It's probably just a gag to raise awareness and sell some t-shirts or something. All those crowd-sourcing things have some form of an incentive, so I'm sure they send each person who donates $10 or something a commemorative glass or t-shirt or hat. Don't get me wrong, they'll still use that $1M to get funding from a more traditional lender, but I'm sure it's not as vile as some on here are making it out to be.

They aren't forcing anyone to donate. They aren't raising prices to cover costs. So if people want to donate and feel like they are a part of something, I don't see the problem.
