Regarding the border crisis with illegal immigrant children, the dems say they do not want to rush the deportation because it may violate the immigrant's right to due process. My question is I thought the right to due process was only for legal citizens of the US?
Under laws passed in 1996, and clarified in 2000 and 2008 with bipartisan support, illegal immigrant children from Central America cannot be immediately deported, they are subject to a deportation hearing.
