But unfair as it might be, that is water under the bridge. It just is. Palestinians have to find a way forward that involves coexistence with Israel. That is their only way out.
I agree with your "water under the bridge" synopsis. The Lslamists have to accept the fact that the descendants of European Holocaust survivors are not going back to Europe, but Bibi and the Likudniks have to abandon their dream of Greater Israel and accept the fact the Palestinians aren't going anywhere either. At this point, the only feasible solution is one secular state between the Jordan River to the Sea with equal rights for all, because I don't foresee any future Israeli government forcing 500,000 settlers back across the Green Line.

Call me the day Hamas says the word Israel and accepts the fact Israel is there to stay. Conversely, Israel needs to admit the Palestinians need a land of their own.

Drop the Likudnik line. According to Bill Clinton, the Likud government of Israel offered to give up lands that would be part of Greater Israel for peace with the PLO, but Yassir Arafat rejected the offer made by the Likudniks. The people who haven't abandoned their dreams are Hamas, and their ilk.
