1) I roll down my window only a couple inches. enough to hear the officer and hand him my information.

2) Before i do anything I ask why I was stopped.

3) I then tell him I am recording this conversation for both his and my safety.

4) I then hand him my information a required by law.

5) If asked to get out of the vehicle, I roll up the window, exit the vehicle and lock the doors.

6) I will say nothing more but "am I free to go" after being requested to leave the vehicle as the traffic stop has now progressed.
