Yep, I've hunted the past 4 seasons with my 1978 Rem 1100 20g for Ducks and dove. I made the switch to the 20g after I had spinal fusion surgery in my neck and haven't looked back. The gun shoots so damn well , it's light, low recoil and I can knock them dead with it. Sure I don't have quite the range as I would with a 12 but I don't really care. I plan to purchase a new 20g, Browning, 1100 or Beretta with a 3" capability and with a choke system. The 1100 I have wasn't designed for the new shell types with steel and etc. So I worry about barrel damage.
I bought my son a Browning Maximus 12g a few years back and I really like the gun. I've hunted with a Beretta a390 12g for the past 28 years until in started shooting the 20-1100. So I don't know what I want but it will be either a Beretta, Browning or an Rem. 1100 . leaning towards the Browning Silver 20g.
