Wouldn't bank on that. McCain damaged the GOP dearly by stating he would "bomb Iran tomorrow" during his campaign, and that has stuck around as the current administration is the only one to stand up to the Likud and Netanyahu's demand to invade Iran and Syria. The GOP needs to distance itself from AIPAC and the demands of the Israel-Firsters as much as possible regarding foreign policy.
Running on a pro-WW3 platform will not go over too well at all right now.
