It goes beyond not having a father. Another contributing factor is the way black single moms raise their kids, stressing that 'ya gotta take care yo bidness.' Which means "Violence solves everything."

Many times, including just yesterday, I've seen a black mother threaten to kick their young son's arse if he didn't obey her.
I wonder when their young sons grow up if this form of child abuse contributes to how black men think about living with black women.
